  • They weren’t singing out of context. (No singing in a park, no singing in a hospital, no singing in a drug-induced nap.) Just singing on stage and in the music room. Finally.
  • The plot guided the music. I was seriously beginning to doubt they had it in ’em. And no silly theme to try and work around.
  • Like it or not, some of these kids can really sing. This episode finally let them do just that without sounding too auto-tuney. (Chris Colfer continues to shine!)
  • And even though they hated on it, they mentioned Grease 2 tonight. I frickin’ love that movie.

Hopefully we get more episodes like this in the future. If we do, I’ll keep Glee on the DVR. Thin ice though.

Oh these were always my favorite days of the week. I’ve been starring things in my Google Reader in anticipation. Let’s roll!

  • Raising Hope is the first show in the class of 2010 to get picked up for new episodes. If you haven’t seen it yet, start watching. It’s good for a few good chuckles an episode.
  • Now everyone, and I mean everyone, thinks Christina Hendricks is hot….and supposedly it’s news.
  • In other Mad Men news, John Slattery is guesting on 30 Rock, which begs the question, when will we get to see Tina Fey at Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Pryce?
  • Awkward Family Photos is the latest blog to get its own TV show. I’d hate on that, but I’m holding out for EdubTV on ABC’s comedy block in 2011.
  • Two attractive, former reality contestants are running a marathon. You heard it here…second or third.
  • In an attempt to save Lone Star, the TV addict whipped up this handy guide for where to find shows online, thus freeing up your TV. It didn’t save Lone Star, but the guide’s still useful.
  • There’s an upcoming episode of The Office where the entire cast is watching Gleebecause they don’t have enough hype. I wish they’d sit around and watch Friday Night Lights.
  • My Favorite Non-TV Related Link Of The Week: I’ve been listening to StoryCorps at work all week. The stories are so authentic and interesting. A few months ago, they released animated versions of a few stories, probably with the sole purpose of making me cry at my desk.

So, What Did I Miss?

Its been awhile huh? Since we left off, a lot has happened, new jobs, new cities, but only one new episode of Eastbound & Down. Impressive.

We’re making a triumphant return to edubTV, because…well…we have time on our hands. Why not use it laying on the couch, catching up with our very favorite medium?

To refresh myself and mentally prepare for blogging again, I read about 650 edubTV posts. (I told you, I have time on my hands.) And since it’s been almost a year and a half since we last wrote, they were kind of hilarious. I did notice a few things I got right, and not so right.

So its been 17 months, but I’m happy to be back. I have a few things to say, and finally, finally, five of you will be back to hear them.

Good to see you again too!

This is the biggest week in edubTV history. To whoever is coming to this blog (it’s actually a lot of folks looking for Lauren Graham pics…awkward) thanks! On to the updates.

  • Big Love is totally wonderful this season and I’m loving it even more now that HBO isn’t backing down from LDS. Turns out they’re stepping on some pretty big-name toes in the Mormon community.
  • Anything involving Jason Bateman and Will Arnett will probably end up on my DVD rack. This viral video is doing wonders for their new show Sit Down, Shut Up.
  • Another internship for you in the TV industry, this time at the Travel Channel.
  • And finally, my favorite non-TV related link of the week: Bad Paintings of Barack Obama. Keep refreshing the page for some real gems. Some of these people needed to hear, “No, you can’t.”

I’m watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. Everytime I watch this, I think about having a son and naming him Linus.

Lucy: You think you’re so smart with that blanket. What are you gonna do with it when you grow up?

Linus: Maybe I’ll make it into a sportcoat.

You tell her Linus! Don’t let anyone change you.

On to the updates.

  • This guy guessed the EXACT PRICE of his Showcase on the Price Is Right today. The exact price folks. It hasn’t happened since 1972. Despite this, Drew Carrey appeared unimpresed. Even the other contestant freaked out a bit. I think she was mad because on any other day she would’ve won by a landslide.
  • Britney Spears went Christmas Caroling with Ellen. It was pretty hilarious. I’m glad she’s keeping it together for those little ones of hers.
  • 27 years later, police have finally uncovered the mystery behind the murder of Adam Walsh, the  son of America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh. The murderer? Ottis Toole, a serial killer who died behind bars in 1996.
  • I love a good talk-show debate on gay marriage and boy have there been some good ones lately. Melissa Etheridge proverbially bitch slapped Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View today and Jon Stewart had a great discussion with  Mike Huckabee on The Daily Show last week.
  • Where do you find America’s teen sweethearts after dark? Hanging out with fans at a local sex toy shop. Stay tuned for High School Musical 4: F’ It, Let’s Just Have Sex Already.
  • And one more thing: Peter Falk (best known as Columbo) has Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Oh, and finally my Favorite Non-TV Related Link of the Week: Sporcle.com, officially the best time waster on the internet.
