The “Seriously Adam Lambert? Really?” Edition

  • Speaking of which, Scandalist put together 5 covers of “Ring of Fire” better than his last night.
  • In other Idol chatter, check out some of Paula Abdul’s “poetry.” I thought she’d gone of the deep end this year but it turns out she’s always been this way.
  • Seth Rogen may host SNL in April. Sweet! BTW did you catch SNL on Saturday? Tracy Morgan did a great job and we saw the triumphant return of Astronaut Jones. No new clip, I’m making do with the old ones.
  • Guess who signed on to do a cameo on The Cleveland Show? Sir Kanye!
  • And finally, my favorite non-TV related link of the week: Scanwiches I’ve yet to meet a food Tumblr I didn’t like.

It’s Super Bowl Sunday! In case football, pageantry and overrated commercials aren’t your thing, here’s what else is on TV. Mandi Bierly over at PopWatch put together a full list of the marathons and programing specials happening today. I selected a few of your best bets and listed them below.

  • Animal Planet: Puppy Bowl V (running continuously from  3 p.m. to 5 a.m.): I could watch puppies running around a little stadium all day. No seriously, I could.
  • A&E: The Sopranos (noon until 4 a.m.): I wish A&E had gone with Intervention or Dog but this will do.
  • CMT: Trading Spouses (2 p.m to 10 p.m.): I always feel so awful for the kids on these shows. It must be kind of a ner wracking two weeks. Lots of fighting and confusion. Nobody ever seems to mention that.
  • FX: Little Black Book, 2 p.m.; Maid in Manhattan, 4:30 p.m.; 13 Going on 30, 6:30 p.m.; The Devil Wears Prada, 8:30 p.m.
  • Oxygen: America’s Next Top Model (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.): I flipped on Oxygen a few days back and finally saw episodes of this show I hadn’t seen. Can’t wait to catch a marathon from the beginning.
  • SPEED: Pimp My Ride (1 p.m. to 3 a.m.): I always hated the really forced acting at the “planning meeting” at West Coast Customs. Lots of head nodding and using the word “phat.”
  • Style: Clean House (noon to 3 a.m.)
  • TBS: Clueless, 11:30 a.m.; My Best Friend’s Wedding, 1:30 p.m.; Failure to Launch, 3:30 p.m.; What Women Want, 5:30 p.m.; My Big Fat Greek Wedding, 8 p.m
  • TNT: The Closer (noon to 11 p.m.)

TBS totally trumps FX in terms of chick flicks don’t ya think? Again, to see the full list, head over to PopWatch.

Image: Dallas Star Telegram – You may be wondering why I picked that picture. I was in Tampa last year for a bowl game and our hotel was right near Raymond James Stadium. You know what else is right near Raymond James Stadium? Tons and tons of strip clubs. So when I Googled “Super Bowl 43” for a nice photo, this was actually one of the first to come up. It was also a running joke my friends had still have about the establishment right next door to our hotel.

The UK is always one step ahead, but usually it’s kind of a side step…or a diagonal one…or an L-shape like the knight in chess. What I’m trying to say is that they take things to the next level…for better or worse.

Britain’s Missing Top Model is a prime example. Nope, it’s not a whodunit. That would be too simple. BMTM is a modeling show for young women missing body parts or with disabilities. I shit you not.

It’s got all the elements of the Top Model we know and love…except…different.

This show is a plus in that it’s high time we start celebrating people with disabilities. We saw it first with Ms. Landmine. This seems like a natural progression.

But it’s also just kind of…off. A real step in the right direction would’ve been including one of the “missing” girls on a season of traditional Britain’s Next Top Model. Now that would be progress.

America’s Next Top Model is BACK! You may think it never went away, as I did, when everytime I flipped on VH1 or MTV there were reruns of the past million plus episodes. But yes, have no fear, TYRA is back on her game. What can I really say about the first few episodes? I did love that they brought on a girl with a serious disability, which they play up as much as possible. classy. And when Chantal (practically identical twin to Trishelle from RW: Vegas…dirty) cried because the view from their house was too pretty not to. Hmmm. Also, when Mila couldn’t stop laughing hysterically when seeing her “cancer look”. yes, mila, that’s hysterical. thankfully…spoiler…she got the boot! I love Jay saying she just couldn’t connect with the true emotions. Sure Jay, that’s it. But my favorite moment of late comes from the wonderful “hoochie” scene in which Tyra tries to differentiate between sexy and hoochie. yep, that happened. It’s gonna be a great season!
